Some people that I know have a home in Rosarito and I guess it is custom there to have a dog for the house rather than the home and be part of the family. I went down with them one time, they are currently doing some renovations to the house, and the poor dog belongs to the house and whoever is there doing work on the house. Camila, the german shepherd, is about 7 years old. She has been at this house since she was a puppy and she is VERY shy and submissive. When I went to the house, she ran from people. I sat down on the ground and she eventually came up to me to get a little attention. Any time someone would come out of the house, she would run and hide again. They say she hasn't been abused, but I don't know for sure if that is true given her behavior. I have not spent much time with her but she doesn't appear to have aggressive defensive mechanism, very submissive. I asked the owners of the home, if i was able to find a home for her, would they be willing to surrender her and they agreed. They have 2 cane corsos and cannot bring her to their home. I am unable to take her in as I have a rescue who was attacked by a german shepherd and his defensive mechanism would not be submissive and I could not put Camila (or my dog) in that situation.
